Polar: connecting your organization
Connect Polar to mint real discounts in your organization. We handle the rest.
Polar is supported as a first-class provider. On the Settings tab → Coupon provider, choose Polar, paste a Polar Organization Access Token (it starts with polar_oat_…) scoped to Discounts, and pick the organization where the discounts should be created. We mint a real Polar discount per earned coupon, single-use and bound to the sharer’s email.
What ShareCount creates in Polar
- A single-use discount with the discount type and value from your campaign.
- An expiry, if you’ve set Coupon expiry (days) on the Reward campaign tab.
- The same
SHARE-XXXX-XXXXcode in the Polar object, matching what the customer sees in their email.
Where the token lives
The Polar Organization Access Token is encrypted at rest. The organization slug is shown back to you so you can confirm the right org is selected. You can rotate the token at any time from your Polar dashboard and re-paste it.
Polar API outages
As with Stripe, if Polar’s API can’t be reached, we still issue the local code and email it. Create a matching discount in Polar manually to keep your records in sync, or email us if it’s recurring.
