What data we collect (and why)
A plain-English summary of what flows through ShareCount, who sees it, and how long we keep it.

ShareCount keeps the data set small on purpose. We only collect the fields we need to verify a share and issue a coupon — and we say so clearly in the dialog before a customer enters anything.
From the customer earning a code
- Email address — to send the coupon and lock it to them.
- X handle — to confirm the post is theirs.
- Public follower count at share time — to pick the right reward tier.
- Post URL and metrics — to verify the share and to power reach/engagement analytics.
From the merchant (you)
- Account email and workspace name — for sign-in and billing.
- Campaign settings (share message, tiers, expiry, required mentions/hashtags).
- Provider connection state. Stripe/Polar API keys are encrypted at rest; we never display them back in full once saved.
How long we keep it
We keep shares and coupon records for as long as your workspace exists. If you delete a campaign, the share records under it are retained for analytics history but are detached from the campaign. To delete a customer record entirely, email us — see our privacy policy for the formal version.
No personal data is sold or rented
We don’t sell or rent customer data. Sharers’ emails are never used for any marketing other than the coupon email itself.
